Students of Manav Rachna International School, Noida were amongst the 10,000 students who set the Guinness Book of World Records by assembling and lighting their own solar lamps as a part of the Global Student Solar Lamp Assembly at IGI Stadium in New Delhi on October 2, 2019. This event was organized to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti and spread Gandhi Ji’s message on non-violence to environment.

The most significant focus today is to protect the environment and switching to Solar energy which is the need of the hour. Younger generation of today will shape the future of tomorrow and this event lit the hope for a solar future in their hearts and minds. It is worth mentioning here that MRIS, Noida children were amongst the first ones to complete the kit assembly and that too with 100% accuracy – a reflection of regular STEM training they receive in Makershala classes.
