MRIS Mohali conducted a special assembly on Gandhi Jayanti and birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri. The students and teachers paid homage to the ‘Father of the Nation’ and pledged to imbibe Bapu’s preaching in their lives. A campaign against single use plastic and thermocol has been started by the students wherein the students would address people in the residential societies, malls, local markets to spread awareness about plastic waste, and will get the undertaking for not using plastic and thermocol signed by at least 10 persons. The little ones sang and danced to celebrate the day. They reiterated Gandhi Ji’s three monkeys and pledged to have a ‘Swacchh Plastic Free Bharat’.

Principal MRIS Mohali, Ms. Taruna Vashisht, while highlighting the attributes of Bapu Gandhi stated that “If all of us learn from Bapu’s self-discipline and practice it in our lives, we can overcome all the challenges around us”. The assembly concluded with National Anthem.
