MRIS 51 Believes in creating a happy classrooms. Our Happy Teachers Change the World, inject fun, humor, and playtime while ensuring focused learning taking place too. We ensure students feel safe, valued, and successful, and that each one feels challenged with achievable goals.

We achieve a perfect balance between fun and hard work that not only gets better results when it comes to grades but also have happier students under their care.

Our students feel happy and safe in their learning environment and so they are more likely to be successful academically. In addition, as our teachers have a positive attitude and create a welcoming environment, it sets the tone and our students become more respectful and engage in learning. We cater to our teaching methods according to the needs, personalities, learning styles and backgrounds of our students.

A positive outlook and encouragement can create a happier classroom. It is important to have a good attitude when working with students. Being positive and encouraging sets the tone for the class. It also models how we want our students to behave. Students are more happy and successful when they feel supported by their teachers. A positive environment also helps students learn better.

Hence, we at MRIS-51 believe that we must look beyond knowledge and facts and address the students how to manage the experience of life. Since life is complex and often difficult to understand. We need self-awareness, confidence and social- emotional skills to navigate it. With heightened academic pressure trickling down to kids resulting in less time for play and the arts, children today are faced with an unprecedented amount of stress and anxiety especially the 13- to 18-year-olds who experience an anxiety disorder . Such early stress levels can negatively impact learning, memory, behavior, and both physical and mental health. Escalating stress and pressure which continues into middle and high school—An antidote to all this stress is needed more. So here MRIS-51 tries to cultivate mindfulness in the classrooms.

“Mindfulness is a powerful tool that supports children in calming themselves, focusing their attention, and interacting effectively with others, all critical skills for functioning well in school and in life,”  “Incorporating mindfulness into education has been linked to improving academic and social and emotional learning. Also, mindfulness strengthens some underlying development processes—such as focus, resilience, and self-soothing—that will help kids in the long run.”

We also give a platform for middle and senior students to connect with each other to form positive and healthy relationships. The teachers create an amazing, connected community in the  classrooms  that positively impacts the students’ lives in ways far beyond their academic learning. By spending just a few minutes on some things outside the “Common Core”—but so very important in life, the teachers create a magic of a happy and a smiling classroom where the students feel more comfortable, experience being part of a community, and be more open to learning and collaborating with each other. Our motto of being happy and stay connected  has developed trust between students and teachers and success for a happy school.
