Don’t just learn, Experience.’

Keeping this thought in mind and as per the ongoing Theme ‘Lands and People’, the concept of a Globe and Map was introduced to the Kindergarteners at Manav Rachna International School, Mohali. Children were shown a globe and map where they could actually see, touch and find the similarities and difference between the two.

Simultaneously, Integration- an imperative part of our teaching pedagogy was touched upon by encouraging children to blend and read the names of different Asian countries. Our little scholars were also motivated to explore the neighbouring continents and their names.

While teaching about a map and globe, how could the ‘Google Maps’ be missed! The little ones enjoyed navigating their own school and other nearby places on the Google Maps projected via Apple TV. Later on a discussion on different modes of transport and how they help us to travel from one part of the globe to others was taken up. This enhanced their curiosity and our little explorers were ready to Get, Set, Go on their imaginary journeys!!
