“Cyber Crime is an unlawful act where the computer is used as a tool or target or both. These days Cyber Crime is a fast-growing area of crime. In India, the rate of incidence of Cyber-Crime is increasing day by day.”
MRIS, Ludhiana feels proud for being a part of the ‘Women’s Online Safety Initiative’ in support with the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The Resource person, Mr. Rakshit Tandon is a Cyber Security Evangelist who apprised the audience with various measures that can be adopted to be safe while working online.
He talked about the various settings that can be undergone to keep the e-mail accounts safe and how to prevent it from hacking. He also stated the safety measures for undertaking an online transaction, how we can keep our account details personal without making it visible to the people we aren’t connected to and also spoke about the dark side of cyber-crime in addition to the various practices that can be embraced to protect our privacy.
The audience gained a handful of knowledge and appreciated the school authorities for organising such an enlightening workshop.
