Grandparents’ Day Celebration

Grandparents’ Day Celebration

“What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humour, comfort & lessons in life.”
Grandparents are the biggest treasure one can possess. It doesn’t require a specific day to express our love and care for our precious gems- Our Grandparents. To keep the students rooted to the culture and tradition of respecting and loving the elders in the family, Grandparents’ Day was celebrated at Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana today.
The grandparents of the students were cordially invited for a special celebration to enjoy every moment of the special day dedicated to them. They were welcomed with the warm gesture of applying Tilak on their forehead. A fun-filled day packed with a lot many surprises awaited them. A laughter yoga session was organised for the energetic Dadu -Daddi and Nanu-Nanni, as it is said, “More contagious than a cough or sneeze, laughter relaxes the whole body.” The Grandparents expressed their creativity through mellifluous songs, poems and interesting short stories. Leaving a trail on the path of humanity, the grandparents participated in The Sapling Plantation drive in which around 300 saplings were planted as a noble cause with a hope to provide a healthy surrounding to the upcoming generations .The aroma of the mouth-watering dishes prepared by the young grandparents enveloped the whole campus. They felt delighted to share their favourite recipes and home remedies for day-to-day common health problems. The videos through which the students expressed their priceless love and gratitude made them emotional and touched the innermost recesses of their heart.
Ms. Anju Dhawan, Principal MRIS, Ludhiana emphasized the importance of grandparents in our lives and the need to cherish their wisdom, experience and love. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards the Grandparents for taking out time and gracing the occasion to make this day a memorable one.
