‘Grandparents are the ones with silver in their hair and gold in their heart.’..

Following the tradition to revere the relations of the social fabric, Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana celebrated Grandparents Day today which aimed at conveying that Grandparents are like beacons always guiding and directing the family to the right path by radiating values of love, care and compassion.

The event started with the lighting of lamp by the School Principal Dr. Rupali Saini and the grandparents who had solicited the occasion with their presence. Students of Toddlers, Nursery and KG presented beautiful dance performances, Circle time and rhymes that brought about a smile on their faces and satisfaction in their mind. A Wellness Programme was also organised for the Grandparents where in various exercises were practiced during the session.

The grandparents shared their invaluable life lessons through their nostalgic experiences with the students and teachers as well. Various games such as Pithu, Hopscotch, Carom, Sargam and many more were played which they rejoiced and enjoyed. They also enjoyed the delicacy provided to them at the food court. This event came to a close with grandparents returning with sweet memories of the fun and frolic organized to honor them.

Speaking on the occasion Principal Dr. Rupali Saini shared that the motive of the celebrations is to teach the students to worship their parents and grandparents. Dr. Saini underlined the need to educate young generation on family values and to uphold our rich culture and heritage. As the famous quote goes “Grandchildren are the compensation given by God to us for making us grow old”.
