India Week Celebration

Early Years at MRIS-51 Gurugram embraced the spirit of patriotism by celebrating India Week with zest and joy. India Week marks a 4-day celebration of 73rd Independence Day which included various fun activities for the students. A Swachh Bharat activity was organized which was focused on sensitizing students on our civic duties as Indian citizens. The students were brought closer to their national heritage through a presentation on historical places. The celebration was brought to an end with a special assembly wherein students wore tricolor dresses and brought tricolour food for their lunch.

The Primary years observed the Independence week by participating in various thoughtful activities which not only sensitized them towards nationalistic spirit but also honed their creative expression. While Grade I students explored books on freedom fighters in the library, Grade II to V wrote compelling slogans on Patriotism. Grade VI students participated in storytelling with puppets and Ad Mad was a hit among Grade VII and VIII. Our little patriots of Grade I and II came dressed up as famous freedom fighters and the rest of the Primary years decked walls of the school with collages made on the theme “My Country”. School corridors reverberated with astute group discussions on various nationalistic topics.

The students visited an NGO and donated books to the underprivileged children. The interaction reflected the spirit of giving and a sense of responsibility towards its people. Poster making competition was organised for classes 5 to 8. A silent March was conducted outside the school by the students to impart the message to the public at large.

What better way to commemorate Independence Day by coming together as a strong unit which aims at mutual development and prosperity!
