Boogie woogie on World Dance Day

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul of the body.” – Martha Graham

We, at MRIS, believe that dance is of great significance in one’s life, particularly in the lives of children. Dance, besides being a way of expression, teaches the importance of movement and fitness. It helps to develop body balance, coordination, creative thinking skills as well as learning the value of discipline and team work. Self-confidence develops as young people overcome challenges to master new goals, learning to apply themselves and accomplish any task put before them. Keeping the same in mind, we provide multifarious opportunities to our children to participate in dance sessions which are well integrated into the curriculum. Celebrating World Dance Day with the children was a way of reinforcing the same and talking to the children about why dance is an integral part of our lives and how it helps us. The children eagerly participated in the Jam Session conducted for them by their dance teachers. It was a delight to watch the children thoroughly enjoying the session with their peers and teachers.
