Students have made LED LANTERNS in their Unit-3 (ENERGY TRANSFORMATION- ELECTRICITY).
In this unit students have learnt that what is energy, types of energy, what are renewable and non renewable resources of energy, what is circuit, how many types of circuits are there, what is the use of each and every electronic component in the circuit, what is battery, types of battery (primary and secondary batteries), what is resistor, use of resistor in the circuit, how it saves the LED from fuse, what are lanterns, types of lanterns.
Before starting the final project (LANTERN), they were taught about how to make a simple LED circuit using (alligator wires, LED, resistor and a 9volt battery) once they have understood the concept of circuits and use of every component, they were given the materials of lanterns (LED template, snap connectors, LED, cardboards and copper tape) and using all these materials students have made LED LANTERNS.
Through this session students have successfully understood the concept of energy transformation from chemical energy (9 volt battery) to light energy (LED).
