Excursion to Amritsar

Educational tours are about imparting learning to provide a good base of hands-on experience of history. An excursion to Amritsar for 3 days was recently organized by the school. A total of 34 students along with 4 teachers proceeded on the tour that promised to be enriched with cultural as well as historical learning.

The students boarded the Swarna Shatabdi Express on Sep 21, 2018 from the New Delhi railway station and reached their much awaited destination with enthusiasm. They had lunch at the hotel and then in the evening visited the Wagah Border. The students witnessed the complete ‘Beating The Retreat Ceremony’.

On day two, students visited The Rail Coach Factory and Science City at Kapurthala. The visit was aimed at letting the students get an insight into the engineering principles and techniques employed in the making of State-Of-The-Art Indian Railway Coaches.

The next stop was the Golden Temple also known as Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib. After reciting all the prayers, the students were taken for shopping. They bought some souvenirs for their family and friends back home.

This trip was refreshing and entertaining but at the same time also laid a foundation for learning and gave the students memories to cherish for a life time.
