Manav Rachna International School, Mohali organised an edu-trip to Water Treatment Plant, Phase 6, Mohali. The trip was organized for the students of Grades 4-5 for their Annual Project – Clean Water and Sanitation, and for Grades 6-8 for a CREST (Science) session on ‘Water as a Precious Resource’. The officials at the treatment plant acquainted the students with different processes involved in water treatment like adding alum, sedimentation, filtration and chlorination of water.
The students were also apprised with the statistics like amount of water received for purification every day, amount of water pumped daily and the amount of water stored in storage tanks.
“We must expose our children to wastewater management. They must realize the efforts and cost incurred in converting raw and waste water into drinking water”, said Ms. Taruna Vashisht, Principal, MRIS Mohali.
