The walls of MRIS Mohali reverberated with the familiar sounds of footsteps and chatter as the school welcomed children and their parents for an evening full of fun and laughter. As a part of Lit Utsav – Children’s International Festival of Literature, “Saparivar – Ek Shaam Hasya Ras ke Naam” was helmed by a Hasya Kavi duo from Delhi in the school premises on January 24, 2021. Mr Anil Srivastava and Mr Sunehri Lal Turant regaled the audience with anecdotes and couplets which left everyone amused and entertained. It was wonderful to see the school come alive again with the assuring and warm presence of students, staff, parents and other distinguished guests.
The Principal, Ms Taruna Vashisht, added another hue to the vibrant and enriching learning environment of the school by inaugurating ‘The Queen’s Club’. The club intends to retain the essence of Queen’s English and develop a culture for English language for ESL (English as a Second Language) learners. The club is open to all the school students, and will be managed by the children under the supervision of their facilitators. It will offer multitudes of activities and learning resources, like quizzes, vocabulary, trivia, creative corner, oratory, etc. to the school students.
The Principal also apprised the students and parents about the Future Skills & Sustainability Program being initiated in the upcoming session. The program will comprise of four verticals – Agritech, Coding & Robotics, Tinkering and Media & Design. Parents were also updated about the Life and Career Development Centre(LCDC) set up by the Manav Rachna Central team aiming at helping students to adapt to rapidly evolving job markets and encompass career goals while focussing on their strengths and talents.
