Janmashtami also known as Gokulashtami, signifies the birth of Lord Krishna.
The Early Years at Manav Rachna International School, Mohali, celebrated the day with much pomp and show.
The little ones looked adorable dressed up as Little Krishna, Radha, Gopiyan and Meera. Bhajans were recited and songs related to Janmashtami were played while Aarti was performed by the Principal, Ms. Taruna Vashisht. Prasad was distributed amongst the children after the Pooja.
The Early Years bay was decorated with Peacock Feathers, Flutes and Maakhan Matkis. A jhoola was placed right in the middle and Bal Krishan ji were placed in it amongst a bed of Genda flowers. Children gently rocked Bal Krishna’s Palki and posed along side.
The fragrance of flowers and the melody of bhajans created a soothing environment in the school campus. The involvement of the children in the celebrations at such a tender age was worth applauding.
