In lieu of the ‘Mental Awareness Day’, MRIS, Ludhiana organised a talk on ‘Mental Health’ one of the most neglected issues these days but it needs our attention as much as any other vital aspect.
The resource person Dr. Aastha Sachdeva who is a Counselling Psychologist with over 17 years of experience in counselling and psychology education talked about the dormant and latent fears which are still considered a taboo in the society. With a sole aim to help people understand the complexities of mental illness, MRIS Ludhiana invited Dr.Sachdeva who is the author of a book for Psychology based on CBSE curriculum and has spoken about mental health awareness on NDTV and is the recipient of an award from MHRD for her contributions in psychology education. She answered various queries of the audience pertaining to Mental Health. She apprised the audience about how to figure out and channelize the mood swings, how one can overcome the fear of future, what exactly is mental illness, which practises help in toning down the same and various other facets related to it were talked about. The session raised awareness and educated the audience about mental illness warning signs and symptoms.
