Storytelling is a universal and traditional art form that has featured strongly in our culture as an effective communication tool. It can be used to inform, entertain and educate. It is often used as a medium to ingrain values, improving reading skills and opening the minds of children to world beyond imagination.
Keeping this in mind, Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana organised a Storytelling Competition for Grade Nursery and K.G. During the competition, children narrated the stories with full zeal and confidence. While narrating the stories intonation, proper voice modulation and body language infused passion, enhanced imagination and expression which equipped the students to new horizons of storytelling. It was an entertaining competition which gave the platform to the young learners to be creative. Their gestures and facial expressions were praiseworthy. Ms. Anju Dhawan, Principal MRIS Ludhiana shared her happiness with the children and expressed her views regarding the impact of story narration on children. She beautifully quoted, “No special equipment beyond the imagination and the power of listening and speaking is required to create artistic images”.
