Grade III Students learn about 3D shapes with hands-on activity

“What we learn with pleasure, we never forget.”

Students of Grade III, MRIS-Ludhiana enjoyed learning about various 3D shapes like cube, cuboid, sphere, cylinder, cone etc. during their Maths session. They got a chance to co-relate various objects in their surrounding with varied shapes and noticed that the world around them is loaded with different shapes. They created various distinct items using these shapes and enjoyed the hands-on activity which enabled them not only to improve their artistic skills but also gave them concrete learning on the terms associated with the three-dimensional shapes like face, vertex, edge, sides etc. Children created beautiful pen stands using the cylindrical shape and were happy to place it on their study table. They also delightfully prepared the birthday caps adorned with their creativity. The hands-on activities form an integral part of the curriculum at Manav Rachna as they not only help the children retain knowledge but also develop the life skills in them.
