Reading is fundamental and storytelling is one of the best ways to attract students to read.

The school library exists to provide a range of learning opportunities to individuals with a focus on intellectual content and information literacy. In addition to classroom visits with collaborating teachers, the school library also serves as a learning space for students to indulge in independent work, use computers, equipment and research materials.

MRIS-51 has a well-stocked, ERP functional library to support the rich curriculum of all the classes. The goal of the school ‘Library Resource Centre’

is to ensure that all members of the school have equitable access to reading, information, technology and books. It has a comprehensive collection of books which are suitable for all age group and requirement. The vast collection ranges from story books to academics, fiction and non-fiction, reference and encyclopaedias, novels in Hindi and English, classics, biographies and general knowledge books make the atmosphere cheerful and positive. Besides, there is adequate reference material, educational CDs, newspapers magazines on varied subjects.

Some practices like online classes, collaboration with teachers and students, sharing e-books, videos and audio books, online quiz and competitions, storytelling, Lit Pro tests for students of all age groups and live author session are regular features of school library. The school library also houses Kindle Digital Books, thus providing a quick access to the books to the students.
