Workshop on Stress Management

With a vision to give and prepare our children for a better stress-free life, a workshop was conducted for parents of Grade VI-VIII students at Manav Rachna International School, Sector-51 Gurugram. The workshop was presided over by Dr. (Brigadier) K.S.Rana, MBBS, MD- Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurologist with 36 Years of experience and is involved in preparing a training module for health professionals of SAARC counties for reduction of childhood neuro-morbidity.

Dr. Rana conveyed that childhood stress can be present in any setting that requires the child to adapt or change. Stress may be caused by positive changes, such as starting a new activity, but it is most commonly linked with changes such as illness or death in the family. You can help your child by learning to recognize the signs of stress and teaching your child healthy ways like daily communicating with your child, encouraging outdoor play etc, to deal with it. He also conveyed that children in this era are more prone to stress and as parents and guardian, we must adapt ways to make our children emotionally strong to face the challenges of the changing society.
