MRIS-51 celebrated Literacy Week from 8th September to 14th September, 2020, conducted an array of events to ignite an interest in reading, creative writing, speaking and listening, among students.
The activities were designed for classes I – IX to hone their verbal skills, decision-making skills, creativity, abstract thinking etc. The week turned out to be an extremely engaging experience mixing learning with fun for the students.
The celebration kicked off with Grade I –II presenting their stunning role-play performance on their favorite book characters which brought the characters to life, while Grade III –IV exhibited their creativity and imagination in designing a book cover with beautiful illustrations giving a new version to the original book cover.
Grades V-VI participated in the ‘Live speech and Just a minute’ events which saw the students bubbling with enthusiasm to showcase their creativity, presence of mind and command over the language and spontaneity. This also provided them a platform to show their talent in Impromptu Speech.
Students of grades VIII-IX were challenged to design their own ‘Comic Book.’ The students had begun the process of planning, their plot, characters and the exciting events to be displayed in their comic book narrative a few days before the main event. Finally, on the prescribed day, they presented their original comic book. It was a delight to see the world of novel ideas the students had come up within their Comic Books.
The entire week was full of creativity and each and every student displayed the best of their creativity and imagination which made all of us very proud and appreciate their efforts.
