Grade 3 Seed Germination

Grade 3 Seed Germination

“If you want a child’s mind to grow, you must first plant a seed”

Keeping the above thought in mind, a CREST activity was conducted with the students of grade 3 wherein they focused on the process of germination of seed.

In this activity, the students germinated some seeds, observed their growth—changes in size, colour, etc. They even recorded their day wise observations and maintained a seed journal. Children derived from their observations that only when conditions are right—good light, warm temperature, and ample moisture—the seedling comes out to start life as a new plant.

Not only this activity was fascinating to the students, but also provided insights into practical side of basic science through this venture.
