Two-day Workshop of Intra-MUN

Two-day Workshop of Intra-MUN

Manav Rachna International School always aims at the multifaceted growth of its learners. In order to equip the learners with the nitty-gritty of Model United Nations (MUN), a two-day workshop was conducted at MRIS -46, Gurugram for the learners of middle school.

MUN is an educational simulation through which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations and the United Nations. Participation in MUN not only fosters negotiation, speaking and communication skills, but also helps in building perspective with respect to crisis scenarios. As a member of the crisis committee, the student can develop leadership skills and the ability to adapt and deal with unexpected situations.

During Intra-MUN, students participated in various hands-on activities under the guidance of their seniors. They were divided into committees and a model discussion was held about the protection of women and children’s rights in a conflict area. The students of Grade XI were taking account of the verbatim being used and moderating the speeches delivered by the middle school students. One of the mentor students, Archit Gupta reiterated that adequate guidelines would be shared so that the new lot of students can meaningfully contribute in future Inter MUNs and carry forward the school legacy.

Students thoroughly enjoyed this collaborative learning experience.
