This Christmas, MRIS 46, Gurugram in its effort to reach out to others collaborated with PRATYeK- a non-profit organisation, with its head office in New Delhi. PRATYeK works for education of students from vulnerable backgrounds. It also convenes the national NINEISMINE campaign which MRIS 46 has been associated with for the past 3 years. It seeks the meaningful participation of children towards the fulfillment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
MRIS-46 hosted performances by PRATYeK which aimed in promoting the spirit of inclusion, socialism and secularism through creative art performances by the children themselves. Through the contemporary rendition of carols and some reworded with a justice, peace and equity theme, the Christmas spirit was drawn in. Children performed (circus acts) on unicycles and with juggling balls, diablos and balancing plates along with enactment of the Nativity Scene ‘on wheels’.
MRIS 46 students were ecstatic on seeing the mesmerizing circus acts on stage by children no older than themselves. The school hosted the event to help PRATYek in its fund raising endeavor for education of students from vulnerable backgrounds
