At MRIS 46 the Toddler children went for an Edu trip to the vegetable and grocery store for a Learning experiences under the theme -It’s Yummy.
Children identified different food items, vegetables and fruits. They explored concepts of heavy and light, cooked and uncooked food; big and small.
Children identified which food can be eaten raw or cooked; like fruits and few vegetables can be eaten raw but we have to cook rice and lentils to eat. Children also observed the different shades of colors in the fruits and vegetables.
Dairy and bakery products were also explained to them. They observed and related the edutrip to their real life experiences of buying a product, choosing, weighing and paying after billing at the cash counter.
Edu trips give them an opportunity to learn beyond the class rooms. It enhances their vocabulary, pre number concepts, cognitive skills, thinking skills and social and emotional skills.
