“Life is a progression, it’s not a matter of a day or two!
I lived to the fullest, I died from heart.
I will come back, why would I be afraid of death?”
This iconic poem penned by the revered Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji is an indicator of his indomitable spirit. A five-day long ‘Hindi Week’ celebration, from the 10th-14th of September aimed at expanding the reach of Hindi language, was conducted at MRIS 46, Gurugram.
The entire ‘Hindi week’ was interspersed with many thought-provoking and carefully thought out activities. The school was agog with excitement as Hindi was used extensively in the classrooms and the corridors. An ‘Ichha Vriksh’ (wish tree) enticed the students where they could write their wishes and a constant attraction was the ‘Apni Burai Tyago Well’ where they wrote about the habits that they would like to give up.
Children learnt a lot about the statesmanship quality and achievements of Atalji as a politician through various videos and presentations. Poems of the great leader were displayed all around the school and the children appreciated the richness of the Hindi used in his poems. The week ended with a Parent Involvement Activity where parents enthusiastically shared their self-composed poems.
