Nursery Hide& Seek Activity

MRIS-21C believes in the thematic approach towards teaching and learning at early years. The pedagogy of thematic learning is based on its exploration of broad areas in one theme whereby many areas of the curriculum are connected and integrated within a theme.

The teachers used the same pedagogy to teach letter formation of ‘S’ to their students in Nursery, through an activity where they turned a sand box into a literacy building resource to play the Hide and seek game.

Children digged a sand pit to look for treasure. The loot in the treasure hunt was letter ‘S’ flash cards and objects related to the same.

The objective of the activity was to develop motor skills and strengthen letter recognition and phonic sound. This proved as a great initiative to help the students understand and grasp the concept better, faster and above all with ear-to-ear smiles!
