Development of listening skills is vital in the early years of a child’s life. Besides being the foundation for communication skills, listening skills are also an essential life skill. We, at MRIS-21C Faridabad, provide multifarious opportunities to our little ones of Early Years for the purpose of developing and enhancing listening skills. In keeping with the same, our tiny tots of Toddlers went on a listening walk, wherein they focussed on the sounds in the environment. It was a delight to watch them adorn their ‘listening ears’ and pay careful attention to the different sounds around them like chirping of birds, friends walking by, sound of their own footsteps, sounds of a motorbike or a car passing by, water being poured, the generator starting up and lots more. It was an amazing experience and culminated with an excited discussion of what children heard during their listening walk.
