“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.”
The Middle School resounds the ethos of Manav Rachna International schools. Here the students rolling in from the Primary school find themselves in an environment buzzing with higher level of academics. Every child’s journey from childhood to young adulthood is immensely vital. It lays the foundation for the High School Academic program. Thus, it is important for us to recognise their potential during this period with timely assistance and support.
It is our constant endeavour to encourage and inspire our students to think for themselves and pursue their interests through independent reading and research. We facilitate our students to learn to be collaborators, innovators, and creative thinkers who will be ready to take on any challenge. Collaborative learning is incorporated into lessons so students can share ideas and learn with and from each other. Students are involved in experiential learning that helps them make deep and long-lasting connections with the course material.
The Middle School desire to strike a balance between the previous knowledge of the students and the raised model in all the subjects. A myriad of activities, events and programs are introduced to kindle the spirit of learning in the minds of the curious young students. The school encourages every individual the freedom of expression and the freedom to be original. The Middle Wing staunchly believes in maintaining an adequate balance between scholastic and co-scholastic interests and in the quest of the learners by providing them equal opportunities for their all-round holistic growth. The students are encouraged to cultivate multitude skills by exposing them to various local, national as well as international platforms.
MRIS – 14, firmly believes that teachers should be engaged in the production, consumption and dissemination of knowledge without unreasonable restrictions. The school places a strong belief in engaging students’ visual, tactile, auditory, and other senses which allows each of its diverse learners a chance to succeed at learning. Multiple intelligence is connected to multisensory learning, which teaches that children learn better with activities that involve more than one sense.
The school provides an integrated curriculum which allows children to pursue learning in a comprehensive way, without any imposed restrictions. Integrated teaching combines guided play and learning, adult-led learning, and child-directed play and learning. It focuses upon the inter-relatedness of all curricular areas in helping children acquire basic learning tools. It is ensured that all learners get equal opportunities to realize their full potential enduring pathway to holistic education. Encouragement is given to diverse groups to work together, thereby, ensuring a culmination of different mind sets. The school also empowers a classroom where more learning takes place as students feel motivated and heard without censorship.
With a holistic, student-centric, and multifaceted approach to education, the curriculum in Manav Rachna International School, Sector – 14, centers on identifying the idiosyncratic talent and potential of every learner and nurturing it so that it can blossom. Challenging students to evoke and nurture their intrinsic talents and skills, and facilitating deeper learning is the fundamental intent behind innovative technology and new-age measures introduced in the pedagogy. With this intent, the school has introduced a Pilot Project in collaboration with JIO BOOK. After witnessing the global transition to technologically driven teaching-learning discourse, the school has come up with this pioneering initiative of providing personal mini-laptops to the learners. The curriculum of this novel initiative incorporates research-based projects for the students. The students will be exposed to new ways of learning through research and exploration.
To embolden our 21st century learners in adapting a multitude of teaching and learning patterns and to foster their curiosity, we must transcend the barriers of academic pursuit. Recognizing the importance of the less quantifiable skills, we, at MRIS-14, have adopted a pragmatic approach to teaching and learning. Our Soft Skills Development Program has been so designed that it aligns with the objective of aiding the learners in assimilation through a combination of technology, curriculum, and activities.
It encompasses a wide range of themes like communication, interpersonal skills, attitude building, social skills, time management, responsibility, self-confidence, self-awareness, self-control, self-management, problem-solving, critical thinking, negotiation, cooperation, collaboration, and teamwork. We introduce students to SWOT Analysis so that they know their Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats, and thus, become more self-aware and ready to face the world. In order to assess the progress and development of problem-solving skills and critical thinking in the students, they are given numerous case studies enlisted with problems related to peer-pressure, behaviour, stressful student life, and personality and prestige issues.
Our program thus strives to fulfil the aim to create and nurture 21st-century learners through a favorable outcome of an amalgamation of various strategies that promote and cater to the learners’ interests, needs and requirements.
