The overwhelming participation of over 400 delegates (students) from 23 schools of Delhi NCR in this three-day committee made it even grander. Mr. Vijay Lokapally, Sports Editor, The Hindu was the Chief Guest for the culmination ceremony. The finale witnessed the gracious presence of Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President- Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI); Dr. M.M. Kathuria, Trustee, MREI; Ms. Deepika Bhalla, ED- MRIS-14; Ms. Mamta Wadhwa, Principal, MRIS-14; Mr. Sarkar Talwar, Director Sports, MREI; and other senior teachers from various participating schools.
Representing diverse nations and pondering over pertinent issues like Women Empowerment in the Third World; Use and deployment of lethal autonomous robots as weapons in warzone; Marvel vs DC; the eleven committees took forth the discussion with their thoughts, inputs and confidence.
While addressing the students, Mr. Vijay Lokapally said, “Spending time with kids is like spending time with the best cricketers of the world.” He added, “Debate teaches you to learn to respect your opponents and with the intellect that I witness today, I am sure that the future of the country is in the right hands”.
The young leaders were felicitated for their outstanding achievements and performances. The Best Country Profile was awarded to the team of Manav Rachna International School (MRIS), Sector 14, Faridabad and the Best Delegation award went to MRIS 46, Gurugram.
