“Reading is Dreaming with open eyes.”

“Visit to a library” was organised by the special educators of MRIS-14, Faridabad. This activity was planned for children of Grade 1 & 2 with unique learning needs. Basic orientation of library was shared with the students and were exposed to books (both fiction and non-fiction) followed by a storytelling session in which Grade 12th psychology students were also sensitized about the various learning needs of the group.

 

Learning outcomes this delightful session were Turn taking, Listening and comprehending skills, Sitting tolerance, Expressive Language, Reading skills, Thinking skills, Enhancement of vocabulary, Paying attention to the content,  Instruction following, and Inculcating life skills.

 

Later, children were allowed to look around and pick a book of their choice and read. Everybody participated actively during this session.
