Learning about Solar Energy

Keeping this in mind, the students of MRIS-Sector 14, Faridabad, are given the opportunity to learn by doing with the help of different hands-on activities. Under one of the annual UNSDG goals- ‘Affordable and Clean Energy’, students learnt about the need of alternative methods of developing and using energy.

After learning to generate energy from a lemon, this time, they learnt about the usage of solar panel to generate electricity by making a Solar House. To make this solar house, they attached the ‘LED’ with a small solar panel and fitted it inside a beautiful house made out of waste (empty shoebox). They tested the project in the presence of sunlight and were amazed to see the results. This project helped to understand the requirement of saving energy and finding its alternative means. They enjoyed as well as learnt the necessity of using solar power and spreading the message in their vicinity.
