To maximize the academic and cultural understanding of other countries, a StudentExchange Programme was organized between 22 Chinese delegates (between 6 to 25 years of age) and Manav Rachna International School, Sec-14, Faridabad. Delegates are here in India to participate in the International Exhibition of Young Inventors-2018 (IEYI-2018) jointly organized by Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) and Foundation for Glocal Science Initiatives (FGSI) to be held from 17th October to 20th October’18. Delegates were accompanied by Ms. Kakoli Pathak, Coordinator, FGSI.
Students participated in various activities being conducted in the classrooms such as Japanese slipper making, Sumo-wrestler painting, origami activity. Senior students were taken to Physics, Chemistry and Biology lab where they participated in experiments such as isolating DNA from the fruit sample. In the Skill Lab, students learnt the art of 3D Painting while some designed a fidget.
Students played Badminton and Table Tennis with great enthusiasm at ManavRachnaSportsAcademy. A Badminton match was played between Chinese and Manav Rachna students which they enjoyed a lot.
Delegates also learnt playing drums which was followed by a cultural exchange programme wherein Manav Rachna students sang a melodious Vande Mataram and gave a beautiful Kathak dance performance. Chinese delegates also sang a Chinese song and shared the meaning of few Chinese phrases in English. The highlight of the day was when all the students and delegates were tapping their foot on the Bollywood music guided by the Dance Teacher of MRIS-14.
The StudentExchangeProgramme was highly interactive wherein students shared their scientific temperaments and perspectives with each other. It also helped students to get an idea of the different approaches they can adopt for lifelong learning.
We wish all the Chinese delegates luck for the IEYI-2018 in which delegations from 12 countries will participate. The inauguration ceremony of IEYI-2018 will take place on October 17, 2018 followed by the Awards Ceremony on October 20, 2018 at Manav Rachna Campus.
