Workshop Report: ATL Community Day at Manav Rachna School for Kendra Vidyalaya Students

On 3rd May 2024, Manav Rachna School hosted a dynamic workshop as part of the ATL Community Day initiative, welcoming students from Kendra Vidyalaya. The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize the students with the significance of ATL Community Day, emphasize the role of technology in daily life, and provide hands-on learning experiences.

The workshop commenced with an introduction to ATL Community Day, elucidating its importance in fostering innovation, creativity, and technological literacy among students. Participants gained insights into how this day serves as a platform for collaboration, experimentation, and skill development in the Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) across the nation.

A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to exploring the practical applications of technology in everyday scenarios. Students delved into the functions of essential components like batteries, wires, LEDs, and their role in powering various devices. Through interactive demonstrations and engaging discussions, they grasped the fundamental concepts underlying these technologies.

The highlight of the workshop was the hands-on activity where students were provided with materials such as copper tape, Popsicle sticks, LEDs, sandpaper, switches, etc. Under the guidance of facilitators, they embarked on the journey of building their own flashlight from scratch. This exercise not only honed their practical skills but also encouraged teamwork and problem-solving abilities.

Furthermore, the students were encouraged to take their projects home, enabling them to continue their experimentation and exploration independently. By fostering a sense of ownership and curiosity, this initiative aims to instill a lifelong passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects among the participants.
