Grade V learnt about Centrifugal Force at Makershala

As part of a Makershala activity, the students of Grade V at MRIS Charmwood learnt why plants are green in colour. To understand this concept, the children made centrifuges using materials like MDF stick, toy motor, mini rocker switch, plastic fan, connecting wires and centrifuge tubes. They also learnt how to prepare sucrose solution and obtain plant extract with leaves of a money plant. The students separated chloroplast from the plant extract with the help of the centrifuge and learnt about the importance of centrifugal force, and difference in densities of materials during the process.
