International Day of Persons with Disabilities

The Special Education Department organized a week-long workshop for observing ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities’ to reaffirm the rights of persons with disabilities. The students of primary and middle school volunteered for activities like walking on a balancing beam with a blind fold, reading the dancing letters, taking dictation amidst extreme noise, reading tongue twisters while holding their tongue and shared the challenges they faced post each activity. The workshop helped the students to understand how normal activities get hindered for the differently-abled people and how a sensitive approach can make a world of difference to their lives.

Empowering the next generation of decision-makers to deal with the issue and be sensitive to people with disability, let us all do our bit!
