“Farms are also the laboratory of nature where different concepts of science are on display”.
A field trip can awaken the desire to try new things and pursue the unconsidered dreams. A visit to the farm is a great way to connect with nature. Getting children outdoor and letting them experience a real working farm, connects them to the learning objectives with an enjoyable experience. Keeping this in mind, students of Grade-1 of MRIS-14 were taken on an edu-trip to an organic farm where they could actually see the roots, stems, flowers and leaves of the plant that we eat. The farmers pulled out the roots of carrot, radish etc. and gave it to the children. Educators along with first graders made a healthy bowl of salad out of the vegetables collected from the farm as a part of their extended learning.
The visit to the farm was really enthralling and captivating for our first graders and created lasting memories with effective learning.
