Learning a skill such as a new language can take a long time. While learning a language, bear in mind these wise words from Confucius- ‘The important thing is to keep going and you will get there in the end.
In yet another endeavour to expand the students’ horizons, Language Fiesta was celebrated recently at MRIS, Charmwood. It was an action-packed week wherein all the language teachers conducted a number of fun-filled activities to enhance the speaking skills and boost the confidence of students
The celebration began with the French Day wherein all the students enthusiastically participated in Role Play, Picture Description and Factual Description. The second day was celebrated as Sanskrit Day. The students wholeheartedly took part in Shlokavriti on Sanskrit Day. It was really heartening to see them deliver the ‘Thought for the Day’ in Sanskrit. The English Day helped them to hone their speaking skills through activities like Poem Recitation, JAM and Elocution. The students explored their talent by participating in Story writing, Ashu Bhashan and Poem Recitation on Hindi day.
The week witnessed the young scholars enjoying the flavour of each language taught in the school. The fiesta was organized to help the students climb the Language Development ladder. The highlight of the Language Fiesta was the DEAR session in which all the students and teachers dropped everything and read for pleasure. The week turned out to be successful in helping many students to shed their inhibitions and they were able to express themselves freely and confidently.
