Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana believes that a successful experience in school is not only about report cards, child shall discern how to learn, retain information, think independently, ask questions and develop an increasing sense of competence.
Prior to the examination days, a session on ‘Study skills’ for Grades VI to X was undertaken by the School Counselor for proffering specific study skills and positive attitude in students. She apprised students with an array of skills which enhance the process of organizing and taking in new information, retaining information, or dealing with assessments. Students learnt about time management techniques, checklist for learning, evaluating personal study habits and enhancing test taking ability. A lot of strategies were discussed revamping approach to memorization including mnemonics, Creating Mind Maps, Peer teaching which aid the retention of lists of information; effective reading; concentration techniques; and efficient revision notes which will enable the students to prevent and overcome test anxiety. The main objective of the program was to make children aware of their remembering potential and its utilization to the best.
The School Principal Ms. Anju Dhawan boosted the morale of the students, reiterated her faith in each one of them saying that everyone has potential, and the only thing is to realize it.
