“Literacy is the bridge from misery to hope.” – Kofi Annan, Former UN Secretary- General.
We, at MRIS, believe that it is our responsibility to take education to every person possible. MRIS 21C celebrated World Literacy Day by sharing the joys of reading and storytelling with a batch of housekeeping staff of the school. The school has been working with them diligently to impart education to them over the past few months and an effort in this direction is a regular feature with the school library. The housekeeping staff gathered in the School Library and picked up books of their choice to read. Some picked up English books, some picked Hindi and some picked up picture books. It was a delight watching them trying to read. They listened with rapt attention as students narrated a story to them. There was so much learning packed in that one story session that they wanted to hear another one. It is heartening to see the love for learning still thriving in them. We dedicated this day to Late Dr. O.P Bhalla, the pioneer of the Manav Rachna movement.
