The students of Early Years at MRIS Charmwood have been entering their classrooms in a unique way, where they choose whether they want to come inside with a hug, a high-five, a fist bump or a hand shake. The children look at the poster on the door and point to their greeting. Following this, the student host at the door welcomes them accordingly. This activity has been aiding in the social-emotional growth of children and is teaching them how to be responsible and kind towards each other. The stars of Early Years are also learning how to take their own decisions.
