The children of Grade 1 (Visualizers) learnt about the ‘matras’ of the Hindi writing system through an engaging activity wherein the students matched the letter with its correct matra and read out the answers aloud. The activity was also used to teach them the concept of singular and plural. The students sorted the pictures which had singular and plural forms of different words. They had to match those and discuss them in class. The activity proved to be quite helpful as the students were very interested and involved, and their concepts were clarified.
