Annual Event Lakshay-3 ‘The Art Utsav’

“Teachers help students find important things they lose every day. Sometimes it’s a pen, a backpack, or a jacket….. other times it is courage, confidence or a smile.”

In assiduousness of the school’s ongoing efforts and successfully breaking barrages while trudging forward, MRIS-14, Faridabad derives inspiration from the immense gratitude on the faces of the young girls at Govt. Girls High School, Mohna, straitjacketing its endeavors in the right direction. As education at grass-root level is the need of the hour, providing education to rural children remains the focus at most initiatives taken under the aegis of Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation. The govt. school decked itself in vivacious hues of red, green and white, as its Annual Event Lakshay-3 ‘The Art Utsav’, hosted by MRIS-14, was celebrated in a novel way. The trees in the compound, decorated with intriguing ornaments and luminous stars, symbolized Christmas, coinciding with the commencement of the event through the symphonic strains of the prayer.

The Guest of Honour for the event was Smt. Satya Bhalla, Chief Patron, MREI. Also present on the event was Dr. M.M. Kathuria, Trustee, MREI; Ms. Mamta Wadhwa, Director-Principal MRIS-14; Ms. Premlata, the Block Education Officer; Mr. D C Choudhary, Advisor, Faridabad Navchetna Trust; Dr. Suresh Singh, the Principal of Govt. Sr. Secondary School and Ms. Balbir Kaur, Principal Govt High School, Mirzapur. A mélange of activities ensued from thereon, where the students of Grades I to III engaged themselves in colouring, Grades IV and V drew and coloured whereas Grades VI to VIII made theme based posters. Goodie bags and multipurpose boxes were contrived by the students bringing paper waste to life and they also moulded assorted ceramic ware from clay at the potter’s wheel. Offering the much needed respite in our digital world, students of Grade IX and X added flair to their handwriting by attempting calligraphy and graffiti to improve their letter forms. Story telling through puppets enthralled the students and kept them captivated.

Ms. Satya Bhalla took a round in the arena and witnessed all the activities. She also planted trees as a symbol of growth. In her addressal, she announced full attendance award and also said that the child whose plant grows the best would be awarded too.

Ms. Mamta Wadhwa encouraged the children to keep their classes clean and be regular to school.

Ms. Satya Bhalla gave away the prizes to the winners of each grade. Special appreciation prizes were also given for creativity and neatness. The programme reached its denouement with the vote of thanks administered by Ms. Divya, Principal, Govt. Girls High School, Mohna, who continues to warrant her faith in the perpetual efforts made by the educators at Manav Rachna.
