Manav Rachna Educational Institutions in collaboration with Municipal Corporation, Faridabad, and Way of Life Foundation organized the first leg of ‘Swachh School Swachh Ghar’ – the Workshop on Waste Segregation for Schools. It was organized in Manav Rachna International School, Sector-14, Faridabad.

Over 180 enthusiastic teachers and students attended the Workshop representing Eco-Clubs of their respective schools. Dr. NC Wadhwa welcomed the Chief Guest, Shri Yashpal Yadav, Commissioner, MCF. He extended a vote of gratitude to the effort put by environmentalists throughout the country for their efforts to keep India green and clean.

Ms. Priyanka Garg, Founder of Way of Life Foundation initiated the event and explained ‘Banega Swachh Faridabad’, an event by Municipal Corporation Faridabad where School Students are targeted and motivated into waste segregation program through various awards with the ultimate goal of making Faridabad clean and hygienic. Various important SOP’s and 5C’s of capacity building at school level for all the students were introduced.

Master Trainer from Human Kind Foundation, Monika Sharma and Pooja Behl shared information related to various effects of poor recycling and dumping which is affecting the habitat of wildlife in a negative manner. They also gave fundamental suggestions and steps to prevent this problem.

The event was culminated by Dr. Kaur through a brief introduction of Eco Brick Campaign which is a brick made of plastic bottle that air tightly packed and non-reusable plastic. She then ended the event with a vote of thanks extended towards all our Guests, attending Schools and the Organizing Team.
