MRIS Charmwood organized various competitions were held recently for Grade VI to VIII.
Essay Writing was held for Grade VIII on the following topics: Social Media has Improved Communication; and Is Online Education as Effective as Traditional Schooling? The purpose of the competition was to encourage the students to enhance their thinking and writing skills, and also to promote the culture of peace and sustainable development.
A Declamation contest was held for Grade VII on the following topics: Impact of Social Media; and Internet is a Global brain. It aimed to develop communication skills and promote critical thinking among the students. They displayed confidence, enthusiasm and alertness while participating in the competition. The listeners were impressed by the confidence exhibited by the students as they voiced their opinion in strong and powerful words in a neck-to-neck competition where each one tried to outshine the other to the best of his or her capability.
A Storytelling Competition was held for Grade VI. It was a sight to behold as the children literally transported the listeners to the land of their respective stories. The young vibrant storytellers came forth with wonderful tales. While some stories provided food for thought, some reinforced moral values and some were humorous. To captivate the audience’s attention, the little narrators used beautiful props. The oratory and presentation skills of tiny tots were outstanding.
All the students had a fun time taking advantage of technology and virtual platforms to make this event a success. The wave of enthusiasm and animated exchanges amongst the young participants exhibited a bonhomie built on a shared experience of unusual exploration.
