Compassion and tolerance are not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength. – Dalai Lama
Uplifting moral values and instilling the innate sense of right and wrong behavior lies at the very core of an education system. We, at Manav Rachna, strongly believe in engaging the students in thoughtful discussions and presentations as a part of the teaching pedagogy. Tolerance is the positive and cordial effort to understand another’s beliefs, practices and habits without necessarily sharing or accepting them. It is this very idea that was brought out through a beautiful and vibrant assembly themed on “Tolerance” organized by the students of Class IX A and IX B. Striking the right chords through the prayer song, an inspiring thought for the day and an informative talk show, the morning air was made richer with the pearls of wisdom shared by the confident and effulgent speakers who effortlessly dominated the stage.
9th August, being celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Indigenous people, the students presented facts about the significance of this very day in an effective speech. “Let Us Rise” was the beautiful poem recited by the students that had all ears glued to the eloquence of the speakers. Hereby ensued the mellifluous strains of the school band whose melodious strains rocked every heart and had the audience swaying to the drums. The skit that followed further enhanced the theme through a dramatic act which brought out the theme of tolerance through the actors’ moving performance. Last but not the least, the vibrant contemporary dance performance enthralled the audience and uplifted their spirits. The unmatched efforts were lauded by the honorable Principal, Ms. Mamta Wadhwa who spoke about the dire need to be tolerant towards others. The audience certainly carried home a fruitful message thus enriching their belief system.
