Primary Years Programme
Committed to holistic development
Rooted in our vision, MRIS IB is
deeply committed to holistic development of our students and aspires to empower the learners to
become ethically responsible global agents of change.

Our offering of the Primary Years Programme(PYP) from EY1-PYP 5 is a
testament to alignment of our School’s Vision with International Baccalaureate(IB) mission and
the school’s commitment.

The PYP at MRIS IB aims to cultivate lifelong learners who help to create a more peaceful
world
through
Intercultural understanding and respect nurturing International mindedness.
We prioritize inclusion and social-emotional wellbeing ensuring that all the learners at MRIS
IB
feel valued and
supported and they build resilience and empathy at all times, promoting a sense of belonging
and
continued
respect for multiple perspectives.
Inquiry based Learning as an educational approach promotes curiosity, critical and creative thinking
and
encourages students to explore, engage and ask relevant questions. Approaches to Learning (The ATL
Skills of
Research, Thinking, Communication, Social and Self-Management) equip students to take their
inquiries forward,
explore about and navigate through the complexities of the world.
This is taken forward through the six transdisciplinary themes that encourage students to make
connections across the subject boundaries, fostering deeper understanding of the concepts.
These Transdisciplinary themes are:
- Who We Are
- Where We Are in Place and Time
- How We Express Ourselves
- How the World Works
- How We Organize Ourselves
- Sharing the Planet

By engaging with these units, students learn to explore knowledge across the
subjects while enhancing their conceptual understanding, encouraging them to make real-world
connections, become problem solvers and take appropriate actions.
