Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana Celebrates Gurupurab with Inspirational Assembly and Heart warming Langar
MRIS, a beacon of cultural diversity and inclusivity, joyously celebrated Gurupurab, the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, through a soulful assembly and the traditional langar, fostering a spirit of unity and understanding among its vibrant student body.
The Gurupurab assembly, began with a moment of reverence and prayer, setting the tone for an event that would illuminate the teachings and legacy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Students & teachers came together to participate in hymns and shabads, creating an atmosphere of spirituality and reflection. The values & teachings of the gurus that encapsulate the profound values of Sikhism, emphasizing equality, compassion, and selfless service were shared with the students with a vision to inculcate moral values in them for a lifetime.
“As an institution committed to nurturing holistic development, it is essential for us to celebrate and educate our students about various cultural and religious traditions. Gurupurab is a special occasion that allows us to reflect on the universal values of love, kindness, and equality,” said Ms.Anju Dhawan, Principal .
Following the assembly, the school continued with the tradition of organizing a langar, a communal kitchen that served a free and wholesome meal to each & every one present in the campus. Students and teachers, volunteered their time and efforts to serve the langar (prepared by the school) embodying the Sikh principles of equality and selfless service.
The langar not only provided a delicious and nutritious meal but also served as a symbol of unity, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to share a common experience of community and togetherness. This unique initiative underscores Manav Rachna’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that transcends cultural and religious boundaries.
‘We take pride in our efforts to promote cultural understanding and tolerance, and the Gurupurab celebrations are a shining example of how the school community comes together to celebrate diversity and uphold the values that contribute to the fabric of a compassionate and harmonious society.’
