Exploring the animal kingdom with show and tell activity

A virtual ‘Show and Tell’ activity was organised for the students of Nursery at MRIS-14 Faridabad. The students used pictures and toys as props to share with the class. Many students got their faces painted like animals and also created beautiful masks and headgears along with their parents for the activity. This activity gave each child a chance to be the centre of attention in the class as he or she spoke a few lines about their favourite animal. The main aim of the activity was to develop their social, emotional and language skills as they learnt to use descriptive language, practice listening skills and share their special items with others. This positive social interaction also assisted in boosting their self-esteem. The “Show and Tell activity” helped to foster public speaking skills and students felt comfortable while speaking in front of their peer group. Through this activity, students also learnt to communicate feelings, thoughts and emotions with words. All the students participated actively in the activity.

It was amazing to see the choice of animals ranging from pet, farm and wild animals. Students also shared some facts about their favourite animal. They enhanced their creative and speaking skills and emerged as confident speakers. It was so wonderful to see the excitement of our little ones on the screen.
