The Iconic Japanese Dolls Festival celebrated

K.G children of MRIS Noida explored various Indian and International festivals during the theme –‘Festival, Clothing and Food’. The festival which the children found most interesting was the Japanese Doll Festival—Hinamatsuri. HINAMATSURI Festival is celebrated every year on 3rd of March. It is also known as Girl’s Day because it is a special day for families as they celebrate and pray for the success and happiness of their young daughters. The Japanese make various kinds of dolls and display them.

Our little ones very excitedly made Japanese dolls using the paper folding techniques. They coloured and decorated their dolls, using crayons, decorative materials, mirrors, glitters etc. Girls very fondly played with their dolls and were very eager to take them home too.

It was a good learning experience for the little ones as they became aware of this new International festival and it became an instant hit especially amongst the girls.
