MRIS

Community service has been an integral part of the MRIS Mohali since its inception and has been one of the foundational principles of the school. Community Outreach and Service activities are a part of most of our learning experiences and engagements. The outreach programs give full freedom and support to the students to initiate social service of their choice by leading awareness campaigns, visits to old age homes, etc. Our students learn early on the importance of developing the spirit of giving back to society and reaching out to the less privileged. Community Outreach activities aim to develop leadership, resilience, empathy and service-mindedness among students.

Students of MRIS Mohali reached out to the wider community, as they painted the campus of Government Model School, Village Papri (school adopted under IRS). It was a combined effort of the students of both the schools and the infrastructural and other facilities installed by them helped them to understand the dignity of labour and helped in exchange of skills amongst the students. The “Dignity to Give” and the “Dignity of Receiving” go hand-in-hand in the process. They also organised a collection drive to help set up a toy bank and a reading space in a government primary school that MRIS Mohali has adopted with a view to bringing in social change where children act as change-makers.
